So. I'll be looking for a job in the very near future. By Aug, 29th to be exact.
All because apparently public schools do not exist around the Pocket area of Sacramento California.
The ONE public school there is? Yeah, they're full. "Sorry. We're full, and besides, we started last Monday. You can fill out a registration form and bring everything, but there's nothing we can do." With her snobby little attitude.
"Sorry, but I don't know of another school around here." She just stared at me.
Okay, that was YOUR option to be nice and help me out. Fine. So I turned around and left.
Next school. "Sorry, we need more than a one year commitment. We're looking for long term students."
"Well we might be moving."
"Sounds like another school might be your option then." Her tone was light, her smile, a cheap vaseline knock off. I'm sure she meant well.
Next school.
"You can go to our website (rattles off address) however we're looking for students who are going to be staying longer, not just a kindergarden session. When is her birthday?"
"February 10th."
"Mm. I see. Yes, go to our website, here, what's your name and address, I'll send you a packet in the mail and then try and get you scheduled to see the dean about making an exception about only having her in a year since you might be moving. I don't know what they'll do though."
It was the second to last school that was the best. And not the BEST, just the best option.
The people were friendly, they talked to Haeley, they gave me a tour, and told me exciting things.
Most schools go 8:30 - 11:30ish. They go 8:30 - 3pm. Their students test scores are the highest around, especially out of public schools. They have P.E, recess, snacks, lunches, they incorporate spanish into the curriculum, AND, on Fridays, they have a Japanese teacher who teaches them Japanese.
The catch?
It's a day care too. So tuition is $172 a week. Registration is $200.
The good portion of that though is that the 172 covers 6:30am - 6. So I can get a job to pay for her schooling.
Wonder if any stores are hiring. And what jobs I could do with a big fat belly if Sy lets me get pregnant this month. Which would be also soon because friggin' Al got it in his head that April would be better, and he agrees. Eh. As long as I get my second kid before I get too much older right?
oh crapola. This is ridiculous.
